Professional Teeth Cleanings
Professional teeth cleanings are designed to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy. Dr. Verrelli follow guidelines developed by the American Dental Association and recommends that most patients come in for a professional teeth cleaning twice-yearly. If you are diagnosed with gum disease or other oral health problems, he may suggest more frequent cleanings and examinations.
Gum Disease Treatment
Gum disease can wreak havoc on not only your oral health, but also your total body health. If you suffer from swollen, red, bleeding gums, or abscesses, you could be at a higher risk for diabetes, heart disease, stroke, premature births, and more. Dr. Verrelli uses the latest dental technologies for comfortable deep cleanings that efficiently target tooth decay.
Digital X-Rays
Our Lake Orion dental office exclusively uses digital x-rays during our comprehensive dental examinations. Digital x-rays quickly and painlessly produce enhanced computer images of the teeth, gums, and other oral structures. Even better, digital x-rays emit less radiation than traditional dental x-rays.
Intraoral Camera
X-rays can be an excellent way to help diagnose oral health problems, but an intraoral camera gives Dr. Verrelli an even more in-depth view of the teeth and gums. At Orion Lakes Family Dentistry, we use our intraoral camera to take advanced images of the teeth and gums that digital x-rays won’t show.
Athletic Mouth Guards
Created in-house by Dr. Verrelli himself, our custom athletic mouth guards are designed for both adults and children. We typically recommend them to patients who are involved in athletics – from football to cycling, and beyond. Not only do mouth guards help prevent oral injuries, they also reduce the risk of concussions!

Meet Dr. Verrelli
Dr. Joseph Verrelli was born and raised in Washington Township, where he attended Romeo High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Oakland University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. He then continued his education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he graduated in the top of his class earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
